Brittany is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has 7+ years of experience working with children, teens, and adults who have experienced sexual abuse, domestic violence, and other types of trauma. She also has experience working with anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, LGBTQIA+ issues, and neurodivergent individuals.
As a trauma-informed and client-centered therapist, Brittany aims to provide a safe, empathic, and nonjudgmental space for clients to be truly seen and heard. Her eclectic approach draws from her experience and training in expressive arts, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), among others. In addition, Brittany has lived experience within the queer community and enjoys working with other LGBTQIA+ folks.


Kassi Lightfoot, LCSW-S

Kassi is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has dedicated her career working with people of all ages who have experienced trauma, child abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, and grief. She has also worked with those who experience anxiety and depression, as well as neurodivergent folks. Kassi seeks to provide a creative environment for clients to explore emotions, reduce anxiety, and increase self-esteem.
As a therapist, Kassi values a mutual relationship and genuine connection with her clients. Therapeutic models utilized in session include eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), and sand tray therapy. Kassi is also an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist who values the dignity and worth of all her clients.

Nathaniel Lightfoot-Cantrell, LCSW, LCDC

Nathaniel comes to Mending Roots Therapy with over 10 years experience in outpatient community behavioral health treatment with a focus in substance use disorders. Nathaniel has experience supporting individuals who have lived with trauma, anxiety, and depression, and a wide range of mental health and chemical dependency challenges. Nathaniel’s therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, harm reduction techniques, trauma informed care, therapeutic gaming and expressive art therapy techniques. In addition, Nathaniel enjoys working with individuals of all backgrounds including men and women, teens, and couples. Nathaniel regularly runs a variety of counseling groups utilizing curriculums including SMART Recovery, Anger Management, and Critical Core for therapeutically applied roleplaying games.
